Fanfest Teaser Ahoy & Follow the Blog on Facebook!

Every year since 2005, I’ve promised myself that although I couldn’t make the current year’s fanfest, I would make sure to go to the next one. Unfortunately, that promise has never held up and I find myself making this same promise to myself this year too.

Hopefully one day (maybe next year if money and timing permits), I’ll be able to make it to the party at the top of the world for a lovely drunken weekend of EVE Online. Anyone else not able or able to make it to the Fanfest this year?

In other news, I’ve created a page for the blog with the NetworkedBlogs app on Facebook with which you guys can follow and rate the blog and leave me comments via the blog wall. You can get to this page either via the widget in the sidebar or by clicking here.

Facebook App Madness

I was just checking my new messages on Facebook when I came across a friend request from someone I’d never heard of. After accepting the request (can never have too many friends), I decided to check out their page. I wasn’t prepared for what I saw next. I would advise those with weak hearts to look away.

App-Madness

Click the picture for the Flickr page, where you can see the full size (23,725 pixel long) screen-shot.

This is why I don’t want to get too carried away with apps. I can kind of see why Alex Albrecht (Diggnation and Totally Rad Show co-host) sees apps as a bad move.

Facebook Apps Becoming a Problem

These apps on Facebook are really starting to annoy me. Not because they may be useless or anything like that. Quite the opposite really, they’re just too good. I can’t cope with it, I’m cracking under the pressure.
I want to keep my Facebook profile looking all neat and minimalistic but there are just too many awesome apps to let me do that. I’ve already removed about 3 apps to make room for others.
I’ve pretty much given up now, I’m only going to make sure my profile doesn’t get too long. Although, the wall does a good job of ensuring that’s going to happen soon.

Well done Facebook, you’ve finally got me. Now, if only I could get this hook out of my cheek.
